- Which Christmas carol movie is the most faithful to the bookThe 1971 animated short directed by the late Richard Williams and featuring Alistair Sim and Michael Hordern reprising their roles from the 1951 version is pretty faithful to the book. The only major omission I noticed from that version was the omission of Fan (Scrooge’s sister).
